In the backdrop of safety concerns over Maggi noodles, Union Minister Jitendra Singh today said that action taken by the Health Ministry on the issue will be based on facts and in "best of scrutiny and law".
"Whatever action taken by the department of Health (on the issue of Maggi noodles), would be based on facts and in best of scrutiny and best of law," Singh said here today.
He was replying to a question on why Centre has not banned Maggi noodles across the country following reports of high lead and monosodium glutamate (MSG) content found in the popular snack.

Singh further said, "As far as action at state level is concerned, it is taken as per the situation and government in Delhi has already banned the noodles."
"It (action) should be based on scientific methods and elaborate investigation. The ministry is already working on it," he said.
