Haryana Finance Minister Capt Abhimanyu today said action should be taken against officers who despite having information are not taking steps to check encroachment and illegal construction in their areas.
The minister was redressing public grievances at a meeting of the District Public Relations and Grievances Redressal Committee here.
Every officer should have information of unauthorised constructions and encroachments taking place in his area, he said, adding the government will take action against officers who despite having information do not remove those.
On a complaint against eight sarpanches who allegedly contested election submitting fake degrees, Abhimanyu directed the District Development-cum-Panchayat officer to investigate and close the case within a month.
On alleged violations in allotment of parking contract to a defaulter at a quotation lower than the fixed price at Haryana State Transport Sub Depot in Naraingarh, the minister directed the additional deputy commissioner to probe the matter and take strict action against the guilty.
