A man claiming to be a human right activist was shot at by two armed assailants but escaped unhurt near his house in north east Delhi's Yamuna Vihar today.

Chaudhary Jamshed Alam, who claimed to be an activist of International Human Rights Protection Council, said that he was waiting for his PSOs when two assailants riding a bike shot at him around 8.30 AM, police said.

But the bullet hit his car and he escaped unhurt, they said.

A case has been registered on the basis of Alam's complaint and efforts are on to nab the culprits, police said.

Alam told police that he had received threat calls six months ago and had filed a complaint at the Bhajanpura police station.
