Activists come together to form Vichar Madhya Pradesh group

Some prominent activists in the state have come together to form a group 'Vichar Madhya Pradesh' to take up citizens' issues.

This group would run a campaign 'Jawab Do, Hisab Do' from February 27 wherein they will demand accountability on part of the government regarding its expenditure.

Besides, the citizens will also be made aware about the key issues including illegal mining, agriculture, health, malnutrition and others apart from corruption.

"Together, it will make our fight stronger. So, we have formed the group 'Vichar Madhya Pradesh'. The real issues are being sidelined. We will run a campaign 'Jawab Do, Hisab Do' from February 27," former MLA Paras Saklecha told reporters here today.
 

The forum, includes retired officials, activists, whistleblowers and citizens. Those part of the forum include whistleblowers Anand Rai and Prashant Pandey, retired officer Vijay Wate, social activists Akshay Hunka, Shailendra Siyal and others.

Saklecha said that the forum would carry out awareness campaigns and question the government besides holding seminars and other events.

"This is a non-political forum. It will run awareness campaigns and question the government. It will also hold seminars and events to draw focus on real issues," he added.

"We will try to take issues to a logical conclusion. We will also take up the issue of illegal sand mining from river Narmada. In addition, the focus will be on agriculture, health, malnutrition apart from corruption in examinations," Saklecha added.
