Activists have urged Rajasthan government to ensure strict implementation of the ban on Chinese manja ahead of the kite festival falling on Makar Sankranti.
The activists of Rajasthan Jan Manch Pakshi Chikitsalya have also decided to hold treatment camps in different areas of the city to treat birds who get injured by the sharp kite string.
In a meeting yesterday, they said banning of the kite string is not the solution but the state government should take strict action against those selling it. They also urged people to not fly kites in the morning and evening time.
Director of Pakshi Chitiksalaya, Kamal Lochan said the camps will start from January 8. Twenty-eight teams have been constituted to take the injured birds to the nearest treatment camp, he said.
