Spiritual leaders and activists who are taking part in the 'Yamuna Muktikaran Yatra' today rejected Union minister Uma Bharati's plea to them to suspend the march.
"We have been deceived by the previous government and now we will not repeat that mistake," said former Uttar Pradesh Minister Laxmi Narayan Chaudhary, who is participating in the yatra, which will go from Mathura to Delhi.
Earlier, Bharati, the minister for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation, had shared with the activists the details of the Centre's plan for cleaning the Yamuna.

The protesters today rejected outright the Centre's proposal and even chanted anti-government slogans as the yatra was moving forward from Hodal in Hariyana, Chaudhary said over the phone.
Ramesh Baba, a spiritual leader under whose leadership the yatra for Delhi had started, said that the activists would not come back from Delhi unless something worthwhile was promised as regards the clean-up of the Yamuna.
