Several political and social activists today staged a dharna here, demanding setting up of a bench of the Orissa High Court in the western part of the state.
Activists of major political parties under the banner 'Paschim Odisha Nagarika Kriyanushtan Committee' demonstrated at Bellview Square near the high court, reviving the agitation after almost three years.
A delegation later went to meet Chief Justice Vineet Saran and submitted a memorandum to press for the demand.
The state government had set up a judicial commission in this regard, which had submitted its report in August, 2014.
The findings of the panel, however, have not been made public yet.
