Actress Pooja Gandhi badly flops in Raichur

Pooja Gandhi, a popular Kannada actress flopped miserably after losing from Raichur in the Assembly elections in Karnataka.

Contesting on BSR Congress ticket, Pooja Gandhi polled a mere 1,815 votes, finishing fourth.

Pooja shot into the limelight with her debut in low-budget "Mungaru Male" that became a super-hit, catapulting her into a celebrity status.

She has acted in a number of Kannada films, and continues to be one of the top heroines in the Kannada film industry.

Pooja had first joined JDS of former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda, then shifted loyalty to Karnataka Janatha Paksha of former Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa before hopping on to BSR Congress floated by former BJP Minister B Sriramulu.
 

Braving oppressive hot conditions in Raichur, she had campaigned vigorously.
