A popular television actress and winner of reality show Big Boss season 4, Tiwari will be generating awareness about the cable TV digitisation in the four metros where the process has touched 78 per cent today.
According to figures released by the I&B Ministry today, the digitisation process in Mumbai has touched 99 per cent, 74 per cent in Kolkata, 68 per cent in Delhi and 59 per cent in Chennai.
Taking into consideration the progress made by DTH in these four metros, the overall level of digitisation has gone up to 84 per cent, the figures revealed.
The Ministry is aiming at completing digitisation of cable sector in the four metros by October 31 and in the rest of the country by December 2014.
The Ministry has taken the 2011 census data relating to households and TV penetration in four metro cities of Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata and Chennai after complaints that data supplied by the multi-system operator did not present the true picture of the subscriber base.
