The 33-year-old singer, whose ex-girlfriend was the inspiration behind the band's debut album, said that although he wants to start a family in the future, he is still like a child himself at the moment, reported Contactmusic.
"I think I've got a few years before a family happens, if I'm honest. It's going to happen, inevitably. I love kids and I want a family but I wouldn't be able to be a very good father right now so I'm going to wait until I can be," he said.
Levine stars as a judge on the American 'The Voice' television show with Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton.
"I'll slow it down when I have a family. I'm 33 but I'm still a baby in a lot of ways, the way that I act especially."
