Adampur coldest in Punjab at 4.7 degrees Celsius

Adampur was the coldest place in Punjab today, recording a low of 4.7 degrees Celsius, as cold weather conditions prevailed in most parts of the state and neighbouring Haryana.

Amritsar recorded a minimum of 7.5 degrees Celsius while Ludhiana settled at 6.9 degrees Celsius, two notches below the normal limit, a MeT official said.

Halwara and Patiala recorded a low of 8.2 degrees Celsius and Pathankot 7.9 degrees Celsius.

Cold conditions prevailed in Chandigarh as the minimum temperature settled at 8.1 degrees Celsius, one notch below the normal limit, the official said.

In Haryana, the minimum temperature was 7 degrees Celsius in Hisar, down four degrees against the normal limit and 7.2 degrees Celsius in Karnal, three notches below normal limits.
 

Narnaul and Rohtak recorded respective lows of 7 degrees Celsius and 7.7 degrees Celsius.

Ambala recorded a minimum of 9.3 degrees Celsius, the official said.
