Adampur coldest place in Punjab

Adampur in Punjab was the coldest place once again in the state today, recording a minimum temperature of 5.9 degrees Celsius.

Among other places in Punjab, Amritsar had a cold night recording a minimum of 7.8 degrees Celsius while Ludhiana's low settled at 7.6 degrees Celsius, a MeT official said here.

Halwara and Patiala recorded identical lows of 8.6 degrees Celsius each.

Pathankot recorded a low of 9.7 degrees Celsius while Bathinda's minimum settled at 9 degrees Celsius.

Chandigarh, the common capital of the two states, experienced a cold night at 9.3 degrees Celsius.

Cold weather conditions also swept Karnal and Rohtak in Haryana, with both places recording respective below normal minimum temperature of 7.4 degrees Celsius and 8.4 degrees Celsius.
 

The minimum temperature at Hisar dropped by three notches against the normal at 7 degrees Celsius. Ambala recorded a low of 9.7 degrees Celsius.
