Adarsh case: former CM Nilangekar files intervention plea

Former Maharashtra Chief Minister Shivajirao Patil-Nilangekar today filed an intervention application before the special CBI court here which is hearing a petition seeking to make him an accused in the Adarsh housing society case.

It may come up for hearing on September 17.

Pravin Wategoankar, a local activist, has filed the petition saying that during Nilangekar's tenure as Maharashtra revenue minister he allegedly granted certain questionable approvals to the society.

Promoters of Adarsh Society, which stands in the upscale south Mumbai, allegedly obtained various illegal concessions in lieu of allotment of flats to politicians and bureaucrats.
