H Kujur (45), who was posted as Additional Collector at the district headquarters, was found to have hanged himself at his residence.
Mayank Shrivastav, district SP, told Bhasha/PTI that Kujur, a state administrative service officer, hailed from Jashpur district of the state and lived alone at Narayanpur in the government quarters, while his wife lives in Delhi.
Police found a suicide note, in which the victim has said that he was under stress, especially for not following, as a government officer, a circular with regards to issuance of caste validity certificates last year.
