A case has been registered against an additional collector and a tehsildar in Maharashtra's Nanded district for alleged sexual harassment of a woman revenue officer, police said.

A case has been registered under section 354 of IPC at Degloor police station, they said adding that no arrests have been made so far.

Additional SP Sandip Doiphode said the woman government employee filed a complaint of harassment against her seniors.

The victim's lawyer Kishore Suryawanshi said she was in the police station for two days, for giving necessary information to officials.

In March 2015, the woman had filed a complaint with the Complaints Committee under the Supreme Court's 1997 Vishaka guidelines.

She had also informed about her grievance to then Nanded District Collector Dheeraj Kumar. Kumar then transferred her to Amravati.

When Kumar was transferred to Bhandara, he sent a letter to Divisional Commissioner Umakant Dangat to ensure that the woman is not harassed.
