Adecco to provide one month internship 50 applicants

Adecco Group will provide 50 candidates with a unique experience and a work opportunity, wherein they can work alongside Adecco's top management in their home countries.

The group has received over 53,400 online registrations for its 50 'CEO for One Month' internship programme. The selected candidates will work alongside Adecco's top management in their home countries, it said.

Only one will become the Adecco group 'CEO for One Month' alongside Alain Dehaze, offering a taste of how to run the global industry leader, a Fortune 500 company with 32,000 employees and 22 billion euro revenue in 2015.

ABB china bags order worth USD 300mn for supply of transfomers * ABB China today said it has won orders worth over USD 300 million to supply advanced converter transformers for 2 long-distance UHVDC transmission links capable of transporting up to 10,000 MW.
 

The orders were booked in the first quarter of 2016, the company said in a statement, adding that the 1,609-km long Ximeng-Taizhou and 1,231-km Shanghaimiao-Shandong 800 kV transmission links will deliver 25 per cent more power compared with recent 800 kV UHVDC links, through the same narrow transmission corridor.

IDBI Bank launches 'Stand Up India' scheme * State-owned IDBI Bank today said it has launched 'Stand Up India' scheme to promote entrepreneurship amongst the SC/ST and women and aid in their social upliftment.

The scheme launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on the occasion of the 125th birth anniversary of Babasaheb Ambedkar aims to facilitate eligible borrowers to avail loans between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 1 crore.

Zayed Future Energy Prize calls for nominations * Zayed Future Energy Prize, which has Ratan Tata as a jury member, has sought nominations from individuals, organisations and schools across Asia that are transforming lives through sustainable actions.

The UAE's international award for pioneers of renewable energy and sustainability, the Zayed Future Energy Prize, with a total prize fund of USD 4 million, sought online submission before closing date of June 27 for the 2017 edition.
Federal Bank launches online facility for availing car loans

* South-based Federal Bank today launched an online facility through which customers can avail car loans without a single visit to a bank branch.

The customer can select the car to be bought online, decide on a dealer, put in a loan amount, get the loan sanctioned and get the delivery of the car at home, it said in a statement.

The facility has been started in Ernakulam and the financial capital initially, it said.

"We will be extending this facility pan-India soon. The bank will also be launching its paperless online personal loans shortly," its head for digital banking Babu K A said.

DB Schenker opens 2-lakh sq ft centre in Bhiwandi * DB Schenker, transport and logistics division of the Deutsche Bahn Group, has opened a 2-lakh square feet centre in the powerloom town of Bhiwandi.

The logistics centre is aimed to serve the baby care, mother care, fire protection, camera and accessories and bathroom fittings industries, it said in a statement today.

"The western industrial corridor is one of the busiest in India with a high concentration of existing and upcoming manufacturing units. This creates an immediate demand for effective logistics and warehousing solutions," Schenker India's chief executive Oliver Bohn said.

TCS becomes title sponsor of largest cross country run * Leading Indian tech-giant TCS has partnered Lidingoloppet to become the title sponsor of one of the world's largest cross country run which is held in Sweden.

The Tata group company already has an association with the New York, Amsterdam, London and Mumbai marathons.

Started in 1965, Lidingoloppet has eight categories that attracts up to 45,000 runners in total, including a 30-km gruelling run which alone gets 22,000 registrations, a TCS statement said today.

"As an organisation that believes in giving back to the communities in which we operate, Tata Consultancy Services shares many of the core values of Lidingoloppet," its head of North Europe Amit Bajaj said.
Firstsource inks 10-yr deal with Sky Subscriber Services

* BPO firm Firstsource Solutions today said its UK subsidiary has inked a new 10-year deal with Sky Subscriber Services.

"Firstsource Solutions UK and Sky Subscriber Services have signed a Letter of Intent on July 18, 2016 and announced a new 10-year strategic partnership," Firstsource said in a BSE filing.

The agreement follows a strategic review conducted by Sky UK to consolidate their partner network and have decided to make FS UK their single preferred partner for their core TV and Broadband services across their estate, it added.

No financial details were disclosed.

Wydr partners Lendingkart Group for finance support * Wydr, a B2B mobile first marketplace in India, has partnered Lendingkart Group to offer collateral free business loans to buyers and small and medium enterprises.

Under the partnership, Wydr will provide short term credit for inventory purchase to retailers and shopkeepers, it said in a statement.

The maximum amount of loan that an SME can apply for is Rs 10 lakh. Wydr is looking at expanding its seller base with a concentrated focus on SME development.

Brightstar appoints Deval Parikh as CEO and Director Beetel * Brightstar has appointed Deval Parikh as the CEO and Director of Beetel Teletech, effective immediately.

Parikh will lead all Beetel business lines to include the growth of handset and accessories services, sales and distribution presence, as well as the fixed line telephone, enterprise solutions and IT peripheral functions, it said in a statement.

Parikh, with over two decades of experience, joins Brightstar from Reliance Jio, where he served as SVP of the mobility business.

Additionally, he has had several leadership positions at Virgin Mobile USA and Virgin Mobile India.

Ameyo appoints Ramesh Srinivasan as President BizDevelopment * Ameyo, a contact centre technology provider, today said it has appointed Ramesh Srinivasan as its President.

In this new role, he will be heading international sales, pre-sales, inside sales and marketing functions at the company, Ameyo said in a statement.

Srinivasan will report to the CEO and focus on gaining deeper customer insights, strategic business management, and thereby, creating successful sales models and teams to achieve high level of sales efficiency, it added.

Prior to this, he was the Global Director for Product Sales at Schneider-Electric software, where he headed the BPM business.

He has been associated with companies like Microsoft, Verizon, and Tyco.
