Adequate safety and security measures have been taken at the airports, which are in line with the international aviation safety norms, the government said today.
These measures, which include deployment of quick-response teams at major airports, time-bound deployment of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and monitoring of security arrangement by inspections and mock drills, are upgraded from time-to-time as well, Minister of State for Civil Aviation Mahesh Sharma informed Lok Sabha.
"Adequate safety and security measures are in place at the airports as per the international norms and these measures are upgraded from time-to-time," he said in a written reply.

Sharma said that regular meetings with the agencies concerned and airports operators are held in the Civil Aviation Ministry and Bureau of Civil Aviation Security (BCAS) to address the issues relating to removal of any deficiency in security infrastructure.
In addition, BCAS has issued necessary guidelines/ instructions from time-to-time to meet the challenges of aviation security at the airports, he said.
