Adhia to seek industry views on tax policies

Revenue Secretary Hasmukh Adhia will meet industry chambers on Tuesday to seek their suggestions to fine-tune tax policies for boosting investment and growth.

"The meetings have been lined up for generating new and innovative tax policy ideas for achieving higher investment and growth," a government official said.

Starting today with Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), Adhia will be holding detailed meetings with other industry associations and chambers.

The secretary would meet industry chamber FICCI on September 30, Assocham on October 6, and PHD chamber on October 7.

Then he would have sectoral meeting with business association and groups in telecom and IT, power, highways and road sector, the official added.
 

The Finance Ministry has already started the process for Union Budget 2016-17. The government has committed itself to a fair, transparent and non adversarial tax regime.
