"We have information A 10-12 member Maoist squad has entered the Jhargram belt from Odisha-Andhra side," Adhikary said at a public rally at Jamboni in Jhargram sub-division.

Giving call to the villagers to be united in resisting the Maoists, Adhikary said "if the public resist them together, they will escape after defeat."

Adhikary, who was addressing a gathering of Jan Jagran Manch supported by Trinamool in memory of two persons killed in Maoist attack on July 12 in 2010, said 5,000 junior constables, with focus on the 'jangalmahal' belt, will be recruited in future days.
