The original petitioner in the IPL spot-fixing case Aditya Verma has appealed to the Supreme Court appointed Justice RM Lodha Committee to sack BCCI's GM (Game Development) Ratnakar Shetty with immediate effect for misleading the court in the Anurag Thakur perjury case.

"Shetty's presence in the BCCI administration is sending a wrong message. I humbly request the Lodha committee to kindly issue a directive to BCCI CEO so that Shetty steps down from his position with immediate effect," Verma said.

In his appeal, Verma cited about Shetty's "false affidavit" to the apex court about Anurag Thakur "not having asked for ICC intervention" either "in writing or orally" which was later proved to be false.
