Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath today paid tributes to Atal Bihari Vajpayee as the ashes of the former prime minister were immersed in Rapti river.
Speaking on the occasion, he said the former prime minister would always be remembered for the developmental works undertaken by him.
"He has worked for the improvement of the infrastructural facilities in the country, be it the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana or the Golden quadilateral."
He also said in the 70 years of Independence, Vajpayee left his imprint on people from different fields directly or indirectly.
Adityanath said the BJP stalwart had contributed immensely to the telecommunication revolution.
"Atalji had a deep relationship with Gorakhpur and Gorakhnath temple, and had visited the temple for the last time in 2004. He will always be remembered for his values and ideals," he said.
