The Parishad demanded that only local people be appointed teachers in the schools meant for adivasi students in the area, parishad sources said.
They also demanded that all tea garden labourers be given BPL cards and ration cards.
The District Magistrate told them that she would forward their demands on appointment of local people as teachers to the education department.
