Admin deploys heavy duty pumps to drain out rain water

With over 20 villages in Kaithal district facing the problem of water logging due to recent rains, the administration has deployed heavy duty pumps to drain out water, a senior official said today.

The water was being drained out of the affected two dozen villages on war footing and discharged in Habdi sub branch, Deputy Commissioner, Kaithal, K Makrand Pandurang said in a release.

The priority of the administration is to save residential areas from water logging. Therefore, the areas where there is water logging, special arrangement of pumps has been made to drain out excess water, he said.

Immediately after rains, the administration officials visited these villages to estimate the loss.
 

In village Habdi, six pumps of 60 cusec capacity have been installed with which the situation would come under control in the next three days and would provide relief to the villagers.

The work of draining of excess water was on in villages Pai, Pilani, Dharedu, Jadaula, Tyontha, Mohna, Dusein, Deeg, Bakal, Karoda, Kheri Sikandar, Jamba, Kathwad, Barot, Rajond, Khanauda, Teek and Siwan.

In all these villages, accumulated water was being drained out with the help of pumps of five to ten cusec capacity.

Due to heavy rains, farms of Mundadi, Kakot, Kathwad, Barot, Khanauda, Rajond and Teek villages have been affected.

He said that the administration was keeping vigil on the situation and people of all villages would not face any problem.
