ADSJ compulsory retired in Punjab

The Punjab government has compulsory retired Baldev Singh Sodhi, Additional District and Sessions Judge before his superannuation immediately in "public interest".

The decision has been taken on the recommendations of Punjab and Haryana High Court and in exercise of powers conferred under rule 3 of Punjab Civil Services (Premature Retirement) Rules, 1975 and all other powers enabling under this act, an official release said here.

The department of Home Affairs and Justice (Judicial 1 Branch) has issued notification in this regard.

As per the notification, the retiree would be paid salary and allowances for a period of three months in lieu of three months notice in terms of rule (3) of the rules ibid, the release said.
