The first batch of 308 sub-inspectors, who cleared the examination conducted by Jharkhand Public Service Commission, would be trained at the Academy from June 10, Rath said yesterday.

"The newly constructed Police Academy, which will impart scientific training, is one of the best in the country for combating terrorists, Maoists and anti-social elements," he said.

Jharkhand Police, he added, had taken the pledge to eliminate naxalism, and plans initiated towards it were yielding results with important arrests.

Located on the outskirts of Hazaribagh town near the NH-33, the academy is equipped with all modern facilities. Stating that anti-naxal operation was going on in 'Bokaro Zone,' he again appealed to the rebels to accept the surrender package and join mainstream.
