Advisory committee to review use of Hindi in official work

A joint Hindi advisory committee of Urban Development and Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation ministries will meet here tomorrow to review the use of Hindi in official work.

Union Minister of Urban Development and Housing & Urban Poverty Alleviation, M Venkaiah Naidu will chair the meeting which will be held in the northeast for the first time, an official release said here today.

Ten MPs and all official members of the committee, including secretaries and senior officers of both ministries and officials of subordinate offices will attend the meeting.

The committee will undertake a review of use of Hindi as per the provisions of the Official Language Policy of 1963.
 

The union minister will release a compendium of 2,500 words frequently used in both the ministries translated from English to Hindi to promote use of Hindi in official work, the release added.
