Advocate's killing: Lawyers in Kanpur abstain from work

Lawyers at the district court here abstained from work today to protest the killing of an advocate in court premises in Allahabad.

The lawyers continued their strike after a two-day holiday.

President of the Bar Association here, Satyendra Kumar Trivedi and the chief of Lawyers' Association Nadeem Rahoof Khan said that law practitioners here are enraged over the advocate's killing and they have been wearing black arm bands in protest.

On March 12, advocate Nabi Ahmed was shot dead allegedly by sub-inspector Shailendra Singh inside the district court premises in Allahabad sparking violent protests by lawyers.
