The Delhi government today distributed monetary relief to the families of five persons killed and nine injured in a building collapse incident in Vishnu Garden area of West Delhi last week.

The AAP government gave Rs 2 lakh to the families of four persons and Rs 1 lakh to the family of a 9-year old girl who were killed in the incident.

A four-storeyed building in West Delhi's Vishnu Garden area had collapsed on July 18. The BJP-ruled South Delhi Municipal Corporation (SDMC) had then suspended three senior officials for lapse of duty in connection with the case.

"A total of Rs 11,90,000 has been distributed as compensation among the kith and kin of the victims of the building collapse incident.

"Government has also given Rs 50,000 and Rs 10,000 to those who suffered serious and minor injuries respectively," an official said.
