Afghan delegation visits Punjab

A 49-member delegation from Afghanistan today visited an institute of Punjab here as part of an endeavor to strengthen public administration education in their country.

The delegation comprised civil services officers and professors of public administration from the universities of Balkh, Heart, Kabul, Kandahar and Nangahar, an official spokesman said here.

"They visited visited Mahatma Gandhi State Institute of Public Administration (MGSIPA) as part of an endeavor to strengthen public administration education in Afghanistan," the spokesman said.

During an interactive session, the delegation had first hand information to witness the system of paperless governance in certain departments of Punjab.

A detailed presentation was also made in this regard by Secretary Governance Reforms Rakesh Verma, the spokesman said.
 

The delegates interacted with the officers of the Punjab Government on various issues such as, administrative reforms, population, family system, challenges faced while implementing e-Governance projects and change management, the spokesman said.

The civil servants from Afghanistan pointed out that they have just started administrative reforms and the young civil servants with their exposure and learning from across the world have been contributing to the growth and development of the country.
