Afghan found unconscious at IGIA after consuming 7 drug pills

A 19-year-old Afghan national, who had allegedly consumed seven capsules containing 68 grams of heroin, was found in an unconscious stage at the Indira Gandhi International Airport here, police said today.

On March 25, Mohammadi Hamid, who arrived here from Kabul, fell unconscious in the flight, they said.

"He was taken to the Indian Spinal Injuries Centre and was later shifted to Safdarjung Hospital. On March 27, seven capsules were recovered by the doctor from his rectum," said the officer.

The weight of the heroin recovered is 68 grams, he said.

"The man is still unconscious and in the ICU. A case has been registered under relevant sections," the officer added.
