One of the oldest Film Society of the Eastern India "Celluloid Chapter" organized an African Film Festival in the steel city of Jamshedpur from today.
The film festival was kicked off with the screening of Oumarou Ganda directed Nigerian movie "Le Wazzou Polygame" and Fadika Kramo-Lancine-directed film "Djeli" of Cote d' Lvoire at two venues, sources in Celluloid Chapter said.
Over ten movies by award-winning directors from African countries including Niger, Morrocco, Ghana, Gamaroon, Mali, Algeria, Mauritanie and Afrique Du Sud would be screened during the fortnight-long festival, they said.
The films included "Heritage Africa" by Kwaw Ansah (Ghana), Muna Moto by Jean-Pierre Dikongue-Pipa of Gamaroon, Baara and Finye by Souleymane Cisse of Mali.
