Ghazal maestro Jagjit Singh's wife Chitra Singh, who gave up stage performances in 1991 after the death of their son, will perform at the Sankat Mochan annual music festival here tomorrow.

Chitra arrived in the city this afternoon and will make her first stage appearance at the temple after a gap of 26 years, said Vishwambhar Nath Mishra, Mahant of the Sankat Mochan Temple.

Her son Vivek died in a road accident in Mumbai in 1990 and unable to bear the shock, she decided not to sing in public.

Chitra will also pray and seek the blessings of Lord Hanuman for the Bharat Ratna for her husband.
