: After a gap of nearly seven and half years, a female elephant which was being reared in an elephant camp in Mudumalai, will be taken to Samayapuram Mariamman Temple in Tiruchirapalli this evening for temple services

Eight-year-old Masini had been found in Kargudi and was later taken to Theppakkadu elephant camp in Mudumalai, where it was reared for about seven and half years, forest department sources said.

Masini will be taken to Chadivayal elephant camp in Coimbatore District this evening, where it will be trained for a month on how to move with the public and also to acclimatize itself with the temple environment, they said.

After shifting Masini, the number of elephants in Theppakkadu would go down to 25, they said.
