After five days, Mt Abu fire doused

Five days after intense fire- fighting measures taken by Army, Air Force and district administration, fire on hills of Mount Abu has been doused.

No fresh incident of fire has been reported on the Abu hills, circle officer, Vijay Pal Singh told PTI.

He said that Sun-set point and honeymoon point were opened for the tourist today and restriction on boating in Nakki Lake was also lifted.

However, fire tenders have been asked to remain alert as a precautionary measure.

Defence spokesperson Manish Ojha said that Army and Air Force are ready to support in any further eventuality.

The sole hill station of Rajasthan, frequented by scores of tourists, had witnessed the massive fire which broke out April 14 morning close to famous sunset point and honeymoon point on Mount Abu in the Aravali hills.
