After being in police custody for five days, Saddam Hussain, one of the accused in the murder of Hindu Munnani spokesman C Sasikumar in 2016,was today produced before a court here and sent back to Salem Central Jail.
The Chief Judicial Magistrate Court had allowed CB-CID, the investigating agency in the murder of Sasikumar, to take Saddam into custody for five days for interrogation.
Saddam was arrested on August 1 in connection with the murder of Sasikumar in September last year and sent to judicial custody the next day till August 16.

On an appeal by police, CJM Maduraseakharan had allowed police to take Saddam for interrogation for five days and asked them to produce him before the court today.
Accordingly, SID produced Saddam before the first Judicial Magistrate, Nambirajan, (in-charge CJM) today and ordered to take him back to jail.
Police are on the lookout for Mubarak, another accused.
