In a sensational incident, a 50-year- old man, suffering from AIDS, allegedly attempted to rape his teenage daughter and branded her with hot iron when she resisted his advances, police said today.
Krishnagopal Dixit was apprehended from Banganga area today after his wife lodged a complaint against him.
According to the complaint, Dixit had been forcing his 14-year-old daughter to enter into physical relations with him and even used to show her porn clips, police said.
However, the girl remained silent to protect the "family's prestige," they said.
On July 19, Dixit tore away her clothes and tried to force himself on her at their house when her mother was away.
When the girl tried to fend him off and raised an alarm, he mercilessly beat her up and branded her with a hot iron which resulted in severe burn injuries, police said.
The girl was saved from further torture as her mother returned from market in time.
Police said that Dixit used to work with a daily in the city but after contracting AIDS, he started earning by working as an electric mechanic.
