A BJP member today made a strong pitch in Lok Sabha for putting a stop to "running commentary" by the judiciary against other organs of the State, an apparent reference to the stinging remarks by Uttarakhand High Court against the President over imposition of central Rule in that state.
Raising the issue during Zero Hour, Arjun Ram Meghwal frowned upon the tendency of judges to make "running commentary" during case hearings which finally become "law of the land".
He underlined that the makers of the Constitution have ensured separation of powers among the various organs and law-making is the job of Parliament.
