Opposition National Conference today revamped its media cell by nominating Shia leader and former cabinet minister Aga Syed Ruhullah Mehdi as the Chief spokesperson of the party.
"On the instructions of party president Farooq Abdullah, NC working president Omar Abdullah today nominated Mehdi as the Chief spokesperson of the party," the party said in a statement.
Mehdi is a three-time legislator from Budgam constituency of central Kashmir.

He has been a cabinet minister in the Omar-led government.
The party also elevated Junaid Azim Mattu, who was appointed as the provincial spokesperson for Kashmir in 2013, as the new party spokesperson.
NC youth leader and constituency in-charge Kulgam in south Kashmir, Imran Nabi Dar, has been nominated as the new provincial spokesperson for Kashmir while former bureaucrat and senior journalist, Madan Mantoo has been nominated as the provincial spokesperson for Jammu.
Another youth leader Sarah Hayat Shah has been nominated as the additional spokesperson for Kashmir province while former Youth NC provincial president Surinder Singh Bunty has been nominated as the additional spokesperson for Jammu, the party said.
