Coins of various antiquities were showcased at the Numismatic and Philatelic exhibition held here today.
Household articles ranging from kitchen wares, majestic wall clocks to gramophone recorders belonging to the 18th and 20th centuries, were also on display at the All India level exhibition organised by Tirunelveli Numismatic and Philatelic Association.
The annual event is aimed at creating awareness about our ancestors and their way of life, among the younger generation, the organisers said.
British era coins, stamps, and currencies used by the East India Company, besides coins of the different Tamil Kingdoms dominated the three-day fair.
The event was attended by students of 138 schools in Tirunelveli, Tuticorin and Kanyakumari and Virudhunagar districts.
