Former Attorney General of India Soli Sorabjee has approached the Bombay High Court, alleging that the Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (MCGM) has failed to take action on his complaint about construction debris from a high-rise next to his house.
It also poses danger to his family as well as passersby, he said in the petition.
A division bench of justices A S Oka and R I Chagla directed the MCGM to file a reply, giving details of action taken on Sorabjee's complaint.

Sorabjee's lawyer Nikhil Sakhardande said a 32-storey high-rise is coming up on a plot adjacent to the senior lawyer's bungalow on Napean Sea Road in south Mumbai.
"Construction debris, cement slabs, plaster, steel rods etc keep falling from the building site onto the road, and inside the premises of the nearby buildings," Sakhardande told the court.
Not only it causes nuisance, it also poses danger to people, he said.
MCGM officials conducted inspections in August 2016 and July 2017, and concluded that the ongoing construction work was of poor quality and there were no adequate safety measures, but still the civic body failed to take any action, Sakhardande said.
Rohan Lifespaces, the developer, said the building has been given the occupation certificate, and currently some repair and re-plastering work is going on.
All safety precautions would be taken, he assured the court, saying that a safety net has already been put up.
The court directed the MCGM's ward engineer to conduct another inspection to check if the work poses any danger to residents or passersby, adjourning the hearing to March 26.
