Agitation over the alleged molestation of a six-year-old girl of an English-medium school today spread to other schools run by the group, with guardians holding protests.

Parents demanded scrapping of the proposed inter-school event 'Spectrum' slated to be held early next year.

"Spectrum is not a single school subject. The event is for Ashok Hall group of schools. The mangement will take a call for all the group of schools," a school mangement official said, declining to be quoted.

The final view on 'Spectrum' will be taken in the next few days, the official said.

Meanwhile, the educational group issued a statement during the day confirming that the parents of a Lower Infant class student had complained of sexual abuse.

West Bengal Education Minister Partha Chatterjee today said he had asked for a report from the department besides asking police to file a report.
