Akhil Agrawal, a 1979-batch officer of Indian Railway Service of Signal Engineers, has taken over as Director General (Signal & Telecom) of Railway Board, according to a statement issued by the Central Railway today.
Agrawal had taken over the charge as General Manager of Central Railway on August 3 this year.
After graduating in Electronics & Communication Engineering from IIT Roorkee, Agrawal did his Post Graduation from IIT Kanpur after which he joined the Indian Railways.
He has held various important posts including Executive Director (Telecom) in Railway Board, Divisional Railway Manager of Bangalore, Chief Signal & Telecom Engineer in South Eastern Railway and Northern Railway and Chief Project Manager in Indian Railway Project Management Unit.
