A release, quoting the principal secretary of Vidhan Parishad, Virendra Kushwaha, said today :"Hasan has been appointed as the leader of the Upper House."
On April 19, state Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav and 12 others were elected unopposed to the Upper House.
The ruling Samajwadi Party had maximum eight candidates followed by three of the BSP and one each of the BJP and Congress-RLD alliance.
