While Air India would pay July salary to all its employees by September 27 (Thursday), it will pay August salary to non-licenced category staff, which exclude pilots, engineers and cabin crew, a Civil Aviation Ministry spokesperson said in a statement.
The national carrier would pay the performmance-linked incentives (PLI) for the month of May to its licenced category staff, which include pilots, engineers and cabin crew, he said, adding this would entail an overall expenditure of Rs 230 crore.
Civil Aviation Minister Ajit Singh was keeping a close watch on the airline's situation and has asked Air India to make up-to-date payment of all dues to its employees.
