Press Trust of India Puducherry
: The opposition AIADMK today demanded that Chief Minister N.Rangasamy immediately write to the Home Ministry, seeking recall of Lt Governor Virendra Kataria for reportedly 'standing in the way' of decisions of the government and not clearing files sent for approval.

Speaking to reporters here, AIADMK's Puducherry state committee secretary A Anbalagan MLA pointed out that the CM himself had stated at a function in Karaikal yesterday that Kataria was disrupting decisions of the cabinet and showing no response to government decisions.

He had also underscored the need for statehood so that the elected government could overcome the 'hurdles' from Kataria.

Anbalagan alleged that the Lt Governor was bypassing procedural formalities in appointing staff.
