AIADMK, Cong candidates file nomination for Nanguneri bypoll

AIADMK candidate Narayanan on Monday filed nomination for the October 21 bypoll to Nanguneri Assembly constituency.

The DMK-front Congress candidate Ruby Manoharan also filed his nomination.

The AIADMK candidate accompanied by Minister Rajalakshmi offered special pooja atVanumamalai temple before filing his nomination.

Minister Kadambur Janarthanam said the AIADMK candidate would win the constituency by a margin of 50,000 votes.

He said the government was implementing the Namiyaru-Karumeniyaaru river-linking project at a cost of Rs 800 crore. Besides, tanks and ponds in the constituency were being desilted.

All these developmental works would help AIADMK win the seat with a good margin, he added.

In the meanwhile the DMK deputy general secretary Periyasamy said the Congress candidate would win the byelection comfortably.

 

He said the DMK front would take up the farmers issues and sort them out.

Congress candidate Ruby Manoharan said he would create jobs for the youth of the area.

Congress MLA Vasanthakumar, who contested from the seat earlier, had undertaken several welfare scheme for the people.
