Former Minister and AIADMK Erode West MLA K V Ramalingam has denied charges of state run liquor agency TASMAC employees that he had demanded bribes from them.
The AIADMK leader, who is the party's Erode district secretary, said he had been receiving a number of complaints that employees of the liquor outlets were selling products at premium rates and had therefore called office-bearers of Erode TASMAC Employees Joint Action Committee to to direct them to sell at government fixed rates.
The committee's office-bearers had submitted a petition to the Erode Superintendent of Police, stating that the MLA had recently called office-bearers of the Tasmac Employees Association and ordered them to pay Rs 21,000 as bribe.
