AIADMK MPs give Rs 48 cr for TN relief work

AIADMK MPs have given their letters of consent to contribute Rs 1 crore each for flood relief in Tamil Nadu, the state government said today.

Deputy Speaker of Lok Sabha M Thambidurai, AIADMK Parliamentary Party leader P Venugopal and Rajya Sabha party leader A Navaneethakrishann handed over the letters of consent of the 48 MPs in both Houses of Parliament to Chief Minister Jayalalithaa yesterday in the Secretariat.

AIADMK has 49 MPs in both Houses of Parliament including the Puducherry Rajya Sabha Member.

In an official release, the state government said 48 MPs have given their consent for a payout of Rs one crore each from their MPs Area Development Fund.
 

On December 30 last, the AIADMK parliamentarians had contributed their one month's salary totalling Rs 24.50 lakh for flood relief.
