An AIADMK panchayat president
was today arrested in connection with the mysterious death of a DMK functionary at Panaiyur two days ago, police said.
Ammaiyappan, DMK ward secretary at Panaiyur, was found unconscious on the railway track with frothing at the mouth and he died in hospital, police said.
Police said he was abducted following a dispute over a local temple festival arrangements.
AIADMK panchayat president Mayandi has been arrested in connection with the mysterious death of the DMK functionary, police added.
