AIADMK urges protected drinking water for coastal village

The opposition AIADMK today urged the PWD authorities to ensure that the residents of Uppalam constituency, close to the town limits, were supplied protected drinking water.

The party's legislature wing leader, A Anbalagan told the officials at the office of Public Health wing of PWD that presently the residents were getting water with impurities.

"The muddy content in the water was posing threat to the health of the people in the segment and hence arrangements should be made to ensure that immediate steps were taken to rectify the situation", he said.

Earlier Anbalagan led an agitation at the PWD in support of the demand.
